Priscilla Morello, Lay Leader

layleader@winsteadumc.org

Prescilla A. Morello is serving her first year as Lay Leader of Winstead United Methodist Church.  She is married to Mike and has two grown sons and three grandsons.  She is currently employed at the Wilson County Public Library as a cataloger but has served in various United Methodist churches in Virginia as a director of program ministries.  Priscilla is certified in Christian Education by the United Methodist Church and was consecrated a Diaconal Minister by the Virginia Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church in 1997.  She chose not to transfer those credentials to the North Carolina Conference when she and Mike moved to Wilson almost 12 years ago but continues to sense God’s call and seeks to live out that call in various forms of ministry here at Winstead UMC.

Robert W. Morgan, Pastor Emeritus

Robert W. Morgan served as a pastor of a number of churches in the North Carolina Annual Conference for 34 years until his retirement in 1995. He served Winstead UMC from 1973 until 1979. Many persons remember him from his years of service to Winstead because he baptized them, married them, welcomed them into the church, or ministered to them in some way. After retirement he has remained active in this church in teaching Sunday School, singing with the choir, preaching when needed, and reading Scripture in the worship services. And he has been honored in being given the title of Pastor Emeritus. Rev. Morgan and his wife, Lavette, live in Johnson County.

Joyce Wolfe, Hand Bell Director

Joyce Wolfe has been involved in church music since childhood.  Formerly a church organist, she started directing hand bells in 1972 in West Virginia and has been the hand bell director at Winstead UMC since 1992.  In addition to her hand bell duties, Joyce is also the accompanist for the Winstead Quartet and has been the director of the Hope Singers since 1995.   As a former math teacher, business owner, customer service manager, hospice volunteer coordinator, and  public relations/marketing coordinator, Joyce brings a broad base of skills gained through a lifetime of helping others to the music ministry at Winstead UMC.
